February Events in Portland, Oregon
We made it into February and past our very first Snowpocalypse non-event. The month of love has arrived, and Portlanders knows how to celebrate it… Portland style. We’ve assembled a few events we think you might enjoy!
It is the year of the pig, and what better way to celebrate than by watching the parade in Chinatown. Drummers, dancing lions, and a 100 foot dragon will make their way through downtown Portland and up to the Historical Society. The fun begins at 11:30 am at 315 NW Davis Street and is free to the public.
Happening at Alberta Rose Theater at 7 pm, this promises to be a blast, as adults will share comical, embarrassing, and downright mortifying experiences from their childhood. They’ll be reading poems, sing songs, and it promises to be a hilarious event.
Running a 25K or a 50K in February in Portland. We’re not sure who thinks that’s fun but we’re not judging! If you like to get really dirty and are in great physical condition and don’t mind the cold… then you’ll want to register now for this crazy event. Bragging rights will be yours.
For the 16th time the PDX Jazz Festival will return to Portland with great performances by New Orleans Trumpeter Christian Scott, Terence Blanchard, Farnell Newton, and GRAMMY® Award winner Stanley Clarke. Check out the line up here! Some performances are FREE!
The Polar Plunge is back, and thousands of people will support the Special Olympics Oregon by running, walking, or crawling through icy Oregon waters. You’ll have to hurry up if you want to participate in this crazy cold but awesome event, because each participant is required to raise at least $50. We think it’s a worthy cause and your donors will certainly agree when they think about you plunging into the cold water while they can watch wrapped up on a warm coat with a cup of tea.
Comic Con fans rejoice because it is time for Wizard World Comic Con at the Oregon Convention Center. Photo ops and autographs with all of your favorite celebrities… and Jason Momoa. Need we say more? Buy your tickets now!
Thanks for reading! Let us know if you decide to attend any of these events, we’d love to hear from you. Check back again next month for more things to do in Portland!
