For thousands of years civilization understood that our lives were part of a larger ecosystem. The system was regenerative with virtuous cycles where the complexity of the biosphere and the atmosphere supported life and all the world’s creatures. There was a duality that existed where death meant rebirth.
Over the last epoch of human history we lost that modality of systems thinking. We turned to industrialization for a solution to feed an ever increasing population, which was was spurred by, or because of, a rise in a capitalist global economy.
Collectively, we are slowly starting to wake up from that pesticide-induced fog with the stark realization that our agriculture system is terrible for our health, it destroys the earth’s ecosystem, and it destabilizes local entrepreneurs and business-owners.
Not to mention the delicious flavors of meat and produce that have disappeared from our farms, and accordingly, palates.
That’s why we are very excited to help introduce people to a different way of thinking by introducing them to our favorite new winery in the Columbia River Gorge called Hiyu Wine Farm.
A description won’t do it justice here. You’re just going to have to trust us. RSVP now, check out their website, and join us for a wine tasting experience you will not forget.
