Have you ever heard the phrase “seek, and ye shall find” or “If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you are right”?

Or have you ever heard of someone say “that is impossible” and then watched someone else do the proclaimed impossible?

To me, these two statements go hand-in-hand with opportunity thinking and whether or not we are living up to our highest potential. Whenever someone says “that is not possible” there is almost always an example that proves that whatever someone said is impossible is, in fact, possible.

To me, this means if you are seeking information, you will find info that is already in line with your biases. If you think running a mile in under four minutes is impossible, you are right. However, if you think running a mile in under four minutes is possible, you are also right. The former belief limits your ability to achieve goals. The latter mindset will enable you to find a way to achieve your goals… and the way it can be achieved is by answering one simple question: how?

Take a look back at some of the biggest achievements in human history and what was perceived as “possible” at the time. What if people like the Wright Brothers did not have the belief, courage, and persistence to pursue their dreams? To pursue what they thought was possible? How different would the world be if we could not fly?

So, how can two people be right at the same time but have completely different opinions? The truth is we do not know what is possible until we try and give it everything we have. That is what I think, and I am right. If you disagree, then you are right too.

Before you say something is or is not possible, check your thoughts to see if they are taking you to where you want to go. What is your four minute mile or airplane?
